Susanne Cook-Greuter, PhD

Dr. Susanne Cook-Greuter is an internationally recognized developmental psychologist, educator, and leadership consultant best known for her pioneering work in adult development, leadership maturity, and meaning-making. She earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University, where her dissertation, Postautonomous Ego Development, significantly advanced Jane Loevinger's Ego Development Theory. Over the past four decades, she has contributed to the development and application of the Leadership Maturity Framework and has analyzed more than 11,000 maturity assessments through the Maturity Assessment Profile (MAP). Her research explores adult development, consciousness, character, values, wisdom, and human flourishing, with a growing focus on sustainability and Indigenous perspectives. Dr. Cook-Greuter has advised organizations across business, healthcare, education, and government, and continues to write, teach, coach, and speak internationally on vertical development and transformative leadership.
