Welcome from Sofia University President

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Sofia University’s Global Mental Health Conference: Enlightened Minds, Compassionate Hearts, and Embodied Wisdom. We are proud of this conference and believe in its potential to offer up new dialogues, partnerships, and ideas for addressing mental health internationally.

Sofia University, formerly the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology has, since the 1970’s, provided cutting edge courses, transformative degree programs, and whole-person seminars to a community of change-agents. Indeed, Sofia University’s scholars and students have long addressed and challenged the burning questions in the field of mental health. Now, as all of us face increasing concerns over post-covid global mental health, we imagined this as a conference where attendees could hear diverse voices, engage in genuine conversation, learn from others’ expertise, share new initiatives, and consider alternative ways of approaching these concerns.

Psychology Degree Programs

Master of Arts in Transpersonal Psychology (MATP)

The Master of Arts in Transpersonal Psychology (MATP) combines theory and practice, instilling in you the ability to serve both professional and community settings. You will select one of three concentrations to support your calling to this field: Transformative Life Coaching, Creativity and Innovation, or Spiritual Psychology.

Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP)

The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) provides formal training in the science and practice of family systems therapy and clinical counseling. In addition to a broad and rigorous preparation in counseling psychology, the program provides training in theory and treatment inspired by both secular and spiritual concepts and interventions.

Doctor of Philosophy in Transpersonal Psychology

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Transpersonal Psychology builds upon your prior master’s degree through exploration and consideration of both classic and modern studies of transpersonal psychology. You will strengthen your research and analytic skills while simultaneously carving out a deep understanding of the multiple dimensions of our human experience.
