Professor Kiran Kumar K. SalagameĀ is currently a non-Ex-Officio Member, Governing Council, Indian Council of Social Science Research,Ā New Delhi and the Vice-President of the International Transpersonal Association, Florida, USA.Ā He is on the Advisory Board of ā€œAnandamĀ ā€“ The Center of Happiness,ā€Ā at IIM JammuĀ and National Positive Psychology Association, New DelhiĀ andĀ serving on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Transpersonal Studies and many other national and international journals.Ā  In 2020 he was interviewed for NewĀ Thinking Allowed YouTube channel in the USA that is devoted to current trends in scientific research.Ā Ā 


HeĀ obtained his Ph.D., in Clinical PsychologyĀ from NIMHANS. He served as a Faculty in the Department of Psychology in the University of MysoreĀ for over three decadesĀ and superannuated in 2014.Ā Through outĀ his service he focused on mainstreaming psychological concepts embedded in the Indian Knowledge Systems. His presentations and publications areĀ related to IndianĀ Psychology, States of Consciousness, Meditation & Yoga, Positive Psychology, Self and Identity, Locus of control, andĀ Transpersonal Psychology.Ā He has authored the book Psychology of Meditation: A Contextual Approach. He has developed a tool Aham Questionnaire to assess self-structure from Indian psychological perspective in adults and a semi-projective test to assess social cognitive abilityĀ among children. He hasĀ spread the message of Indian psychology in several national and international conferences, seminars, workshops and has delivered lectures in India and abroadĀ related to his work.Ā Ā 


He is a recipient of Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellowship (1990-91) and Fulbright Nehru Visiting Lecturer Fellowship (2011), Psycho-Oration Award from the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (2006), Honorary Professorship of the International Academy for Yoga Teacher Training, Belgrade, and Member, Scientific Board, International Society for Interdisciplinary Yoga Research, Belgrade, Serbia (2011) and Senior Research Fellowship from ICSSR, New Delhi (2013-15), He was a visiting lecturer at Bihar Yoga University, Munger, BiharĀ  and in other institutions. He served as Guest Editor for Indian J. Cl. Psy., Special Issue, June 2021; as an Associate Editor of Psychological Studies.Ā General reading, listening to music, watching TV, gardening and travel are some of his extracurricular interests.Ā Ā
